Bob Younger
1853–1889 (age 36)
Biography
Bob Younger came of age during the Civil War years and forged a reputation as part of the Younger brothers' band, a group whose raids reflected the bitter strife of the era. Though that life brought violence, those who knew him later remembered a man bound by unshakeable loyalty to his brothers.
After the gang's collapse he spent his final years in custody, suffering from wounds sustained in the Kansas shootout that ended their raids, and he died in 1889, being laid to rest at Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery, where visitors recall the turmoil of the Reconstruction years that shaped his life.
