Boris Brutskus was a distinguished economist whose writings explored the challenges facing Eastern European Jewry and the broader Russian Empire. He combined rigorous analysis with compassion, addressing subjects such as agrarian reform, Jewish labor, and the socioeconomic shifts of his time.

Respected by academics and activists alike, he spent his final days continuing to engage with economic debates that shaped the emerging Jewish community in the Land of Israel, until he was laid to rest on the Mount of Olives.
