Brice Parain

1897–1971 (age 74)

Biography

Brice Parain, born in 1897, devoted his life to the discipline of the human word, teaching, translating, and reflecting on language as the vessel of thought, particularly through his work at the Sorbonne and in the literary salons of Paris.

His patient interrogations of philosophical language, delivered with a gentle curiosity, continue to guide scholars who visit his resting place in Verdelot, inspired by his insistence on clarity and human connection.
