Brownlow Charles Colyear
1796–1819 (age 23)
Biography
Brownlow Charles Colyear was a young man whose life was cut short in the early nineteenth century. Born in 1796, he represented a generation coming of age during the Napoleonic Wars and the height of British imperial expansion. His brief existence reflects the vulnerabilities of youth during this transformative historical period.
Colyear's burial at the Church of St. James marks his connection to a faith community, despite his youth. He died in 1819 at the age of twenty-three, his life ending before he could fully participate in the Victorian era that would soon reshape British society. His memory is preserved in the records of his parish church.
