Burleigh F. Spalding

Biography

Burleigh F. Spalding represented North Dakota in Congress and later served as a federal judge, always guided by a deep respect for the Constitution and a belief that laws should protect both individual rights and the public welfare. His speeches reflected an earnest desire to bridge partisan divides and to keep the promise of the Plains close to the national dialogue.
