C.F. Theodore Steinway (1825–1889) carried on the family legacy of music and craftsmanship as a guiding force at Steinway & Sons. Under his leadership the firm grew in reputation for building pianos of unparalleled quality, reflecting both his German heritage and his American ambition.

He balanced artistry with sound business acumen, helping to position the company as a cultural institution while supporting advancements in piano making. He is interred at Green-Wood Cemetery, where his contributions to music and industry are remembered with admiration.
