Biography

Caleb Huse, born in 1831, graduated from West Point and became the Confederacy's chief ordnance agent, traveling to Europe to procure arms and ammunition that kept Southern arsenals supplied despite blockades.

In his later years he shared technical knowledge with young engineers and reflected on the complexities of war, his quiet dedication culminating in interment at Peacedale Cemetery.
