Biography

Carl Erik Bergstrand (1830–1914) was a Swedish geologist who contributed to the scientific understanding of the Earth and its composition. His work in geology reflected the 19th-century expansion of natural sciences and the systematic study of geological phenomena.

Bergstrand's career in geological science spanned more than eight decades, allowing him to witness and contribute to the remarkable advances in geological knowledge during the Victorian era and beyond. He was interred in Uppsala Old Cemetery, where his scientific legacy is honored.
