Biography

Carl Maurach (1824–1900) carried the duties of a cleric in Põltsamaa with deep fidelity, administering sacraments and offering solace to families across the town and nearby villages. His years of service spanned a period of change, yet he kept his sermons grounded in scripture and the practical needs of his flock.

Beyond the pulpit, he supported the local school and helped mediate disputes, proving to be a respected elder, and his grave in Põltsamaa Cemetery marks the place where a lifelong pastor rests.
