Biography

Carl Rettich (1805–1878) was an Austrian stage actor who performed during the golden age of Viennese theater. His career extended through much of the nineteenth century, a period when Vienna's theatrical traditions were among the most vibrant and celebrated in Europe.

Rettich's work on the stage contributed to the rich dramatic heritage of Austria, entertaining audiences and advancing the art of performance during his era. As a stage actor, he was part of Vienna's cultural elite and participated in the theatrical world that made the city renowned throughout the continent. He was interred in Matzleinsdorf Protestant Cemetery.
