Biography
Caroline Hazard guided Wellesley College through a period of thoughtful expansion, supporting both academic excellence and the arts while encouraging women to pursue bold intellectual lives. Her generosity extended beyond the campus, supporting libraries, museums, and public spaces that nourished civic life.
Even after stepping down from the presidency, she remained a champion for education and beauty in the world, and she now rests at Oak Dell Cemetery, where visitors recall her grace and resolve.
