Biography

Carolus Grant Mackenzie was a young man whose life was cut short in the early years of the 19th century. Born in 1786, he lived during a period of significant British expansion in India, yet his life spanned only eighteen years before his death in 1804.

Mackenzie's burial at South Park Street Cemetery in Calcutta reflects his place within the British community of India during this formative period. Though his time was brief, his memory endures in the historical record of those who lived and died in service to the colonial enterprise.
