Biography
Celestia Wattles was born in 1849 and lived through the latter half of the nineteenth century and into the twentieth. Her long life allowed her to witness the transformation of America from a largely rural society to an increasingly industrial and urban nation.
She was laid to rest at Westwood Cemetery in 1933, having lived to see the world change dramatically around her. Her memory endures as a testament to a life lived through one of history's most dynamic periods.
