Chandler J. Wells

Biography

Chandler J. Wells (1814–1887) served as mayor of Buffalo from 1859 to 1860, guiding the city through early industrial growth and championing improvements to its harbor and municipal services.

He continued to support civic and commercial causes that strengthened neighborhood welfare, and his legacy is honored at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
