Biography
Charles B. Farwell devoted decades to public service, representing Illinois in the U.S. House and Senate while championing education, railroads, and the development of Chicago's civic institutions. He believed in harnessing enterprise to uplift the growing Midwest.
He also supported philanthropic causes, notably helping to found schools and hospitals, and his gracious hospitality drew leaders and citizens alike to Roslyn gatherings; his final repose at Rosehill Cemetery marks one of the city’s most respected statesmen.
