Biography

Charles Bayard de la Vingtrie (1793–1872) was a French gentleman of the nineteenth century whose life spanned the transformative decades following the Napoleonic era. He witnessed the restoration of the monarchy and the subsequent political upheavals that shaped modern France during his nearly eighty years.

His final resting place at Père Lachaise Cemetery reflects the prominence of his family and social standing in Parisian society. Like many of his contemporaries, he lived through periods of significant historical change while maintaining his position within the French aristocratic and bourgeois circles of his time.
