Charles Deems

Biography

Charles Deems (1820-1893) spent decades in the pulpit and on the printed page, inspiring congregations with sermons that combined scripture with a compassionate concern for the pressing social issues of his day.

He was beloved for his ability to comfort and challenge in equal measure, and Moravian Cemetery now shelters his remains alongside the many whom he guided in faith.
