Biography
Charles F. Grainger had long been active in Louisville business and civic life and was chosen to lead the city as mayor, guiding municipal improvements and encouraging public-private partnerships that strengthened the city's infrastructure.
Beyond the mayor's office he supported the Chamber of Commerce, civic clubs, and veterans' causes, setting a tone of practical stewardship that kept the city moving forward and now rests at Cave Hill Cemetery.
