Biography

Charles Frederick Crocker carried forward his family's commitment to railroading, guiding the Southern Pacific and related lines through a period of rapid expansion and modernization that helped knit the West into the national economy.

He met the demands of that work with a keen intellect and generosity, supporting employees and civic causes alike, and his passing at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park was mourned by colleagues and the communities served by the rails he helped shape.
