Biography

Charles Humbert began as a journalist before entering national politics, where he served with a perceptive voice on defense and administrative reform committees. His speeches sought to balance keen analysis with a commitment to republican ideals.

He also worked to improve social services and support veterans in the aftermath of the Great War, and his contemporaries remembered him for both diligence and compassion as he was laid to rest at Batignolles Cemetery.
