Charles Kinney was born in 1850, and as the turn of the century approached he was known in the Greenlawn area as a craftsman attentive to the rhythm of both land and town.

He balanced the demands of his trade with a steady devotion to neighbors, letting his respectful humor and companionship mark the community now remembering him at Greenlawn Cemetery.
