Biography

Charles Larned answered the call of duty during the War of 1812 and afterward devoted himself to the law, helping to uphold the rule of justice in the developing Michigan Territory.

Though he died at a relatively young age, the firmness of his character and his commitment to both his military comrades and the courts left a lasting impression on Detroit, and he rests at Elmwood Cemetery.
