Biography

Born in 1840, Charles Lenepveu emerged from the Paris Conservatoire as a composer whose works reflected a measured command of lyricism and dramatic pacing. A Prix de Rome laureate, he devoted himself to crafting operas and vocal pieces that upheld the elegance of the French tradition while enabling singers to reveal the nuance of their craft.
