Charles M. Harris

Biography

Charles M. Harris was born in 1821 and spent his life rooted in the Oquawka area, tending the land and encouraging the people he called neighbors. His steadiness and gentle encouragement upheld many during seasons of change.

When he passed in 1896, those who knew him remembered a generous spirit; his resting place at Oquawka Cemetery offers a lasting tribute to a life lived in quiet service.
