Biography
Charles N. DeGlopper, born in 1921, answered his country's call and served as a private in the United States Army's 3rd Infantry Division during World War II.
He gave his life while covering his comrades' withdrawal during the fierce fighting near Hill 192 in Normandy and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor; he lies in Maple Grove Cemetery and is remembered for extraordinary courage.
