Biography

Charles Reznikoff balanced a legal career with a lifelong devotion to poetry, emerging as a key member of the Objectivist circle and composing works such as Testimony and Holocaust that drew on court records to reclaim the voices of ordinary people.

He insisted that lyricism lived in the everyday and that justice stories deserved a human ear, and readers still find solace in his spare lines as his memory endures in New York City.
