Biography

Charles Rogier rose from his training in law to become a central figure in the Belgian Revolution, helping to shape the young nation’s constitutional foundations and later serving as prime minister. His forensic mind and persuasive rhetoric brought together liberal forces at pivotal moments, steering Belgium through its earliest years with calm dignity.
