Biography

Charles T. Dunwell, born in 1852, pursued the law with a sense of civic duty and brought his talents to the United States House of Representatives on behalf of the people of New York. Throughout his service he championed thoughtful legislation and engaged colleagues with courteous resolve, embodying the ideals of a public servant.

His colleagues remembered him for measured speech and firm principles, and when he passed in 1908 he was interred at The Evergreens Cemetery, where civic leaders continue to recall his contributions to the nation’s capital.
