Biography
Charles Townsend of Ohio spent much of his career in the law and spent a term in the U.S. House, where he lent his voice to the debates of a nation still weaving together its post-Civil War identity.
He returned home to West Union Street to provide counsel and mentorship, letting his experience in the capital inform the steady civic guidance he offered his neighbors.
