Biography

Charles Victoire Emmanuel Leclerc was a French military officer born in 1772. He rose to prominence during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, serving as a general under Napoleon Bonaparte and commanding significant military operations.

Leclerc's military career was marked by his command of the French expedition to Saint-Domingue (Haiti) in 1801-1802, where he died in 1802 at the age of thirty. He was interred at the Château de Montgobert, remembered as a capable military commander whose life was cut short during the height of his service.
