Charlie Ganzel (1862–1914) distinguished himself as a skilled catcher during the early years of professional baseball, earning admiration for his tough resolve behind the plate and his dedication to the teams he represented.

After his time in the spotlight, he continued to be a valued presence in his local community, offering encouragement to younger players and sharing stories of the game that shaped his life; he now rests at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
