Biography

Christian August Rudolph Abelsted devoted himself to the dramatic arts, bringing sensitivity to the characters he portrayed and helping to raise the profile of Norwegian theatre in the mid-nineteenth century.

He shared his gifts with audiences near Christiania and beyond, and when he passed in 1889 he was laid to rest at Vår Frelsers gravlund with gratitude for the stories he had told.
