Christian Gottlieb Kratzenstein-Stub earned recognition as a painter whose promising life was cut short in 1816. Born in 1783, he trained with established artists in Copenhagen and produced works that reflected the transition from late Rococo delicacy to a more earnest Romantic sensibility.
