Biography
Christian Ingerslev Baastrup practiced medicine in Copenhagen at a time when physicians were becoming anchors of urban neighbourhoods, offering careful diagnosis and calm counsel to families of every background.
He combined clinical care with a readiness to share knowledge with younger colleagues and remained a familiar, kindly presence in the wards; his memory is honoured at Assistens Cemetery.
