Christine Lilja

Biography

Christine Lilja (1837–1924) was a Swedish woman who lived through nearly nine decades of her nation's history, witnessing profound changes in Swedish society, culture, and politics. Her long life spanned from the early 19th century through the early 20th century.

Lilja's extended lifetime allowed her to observe the transformation of Sweden from an agrarian society to a modern industrial nation. She was interred at Söderhamn cemetery, where she remains part of the community's historical record and memory.
