Biography

Christopher Babcock lived for eighty-one years, from 1734 to 1815, witnessing the full arc of American independence from colonial times through the early republic. His long life spanned the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, and the establishment of the new nation. He was an integral part of the Hopkinton community, contributing to its development and stability over many decades.

Babcock's final resting place in the First Hopkinton Cemetery reflects his deep roots in the community he called home. His extended life allowed him to see generations grow and flourish, and his legacy endures as a symbol of continuity and perseverance during America's formative years.
