Clara Rockmore was a pioneering Soviet-American musician who became one of the most celebrated performers of the theremin, an electronic musical instrument. Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, she demonstrated extraordinary musical talent from an early age and went on to establish herself as a virtuoso, performing with major orchestras and recording extensively throughout her career.
