Biography

Clemente Altieri, 6th Prince of Oriolo, was an Italian aristocrat of distinguished lineage who lived during a transformative period in European history. Born in 1795, he inherited his title and estates during the Napoleonic era and witnessed the subsequent restoration of the Italian states.

The Prince maintained his family's prominence throughout the 19th century, upholding the traditions and responsibilities of the Roman nobility. He was interred in the historic Santa Maria sopra Minerva, one of Rome's most significant churches, reflecting his status and the esteem in which he was held by his contemporaries.
