Biography

Coelestin Frič (1856–1886) was a Czech writer whose brief but notable career contributed to the literary culture of the late 19th century. Despite his early death at age thirty, Frič established himself as a talented voice in Czech letters, engaging with contemporary literary movements and themes.

Frič's literary promise was evident in his work, though his life was cut short before he could fully realize his potential as a writer. His contributions to Czech literature, though limited by his premature death, remain part of the cultural heritage of the period. He was buried at Olšany Cemetery in Prague.
