Biography
Col. P. W. Powlett combined military service with a passion for botanical collecting, sending specimens from distant locales back to institutions eager for new discoveries and enriching the understanding of plant life across the Empire.
He encouraged fellow naturalists and shared his knowledge generously, and after his death in 1910 he was laid to rest in St James Churchyard.
