Cornelia Clapp

Biography

Cornelia Clapp built a career as a marine biologist and educator, teaching at Mount Holyoke College and directing laboratory programs that helped ensure women received rigorous scientific training.

She supported the development of research facilities and professional societies, providing encouragement and resources that sustained generations of women in the sciences until her death in 1934.
