Curtis Guild

Biography

Curtis Guild (1860–1915) served Massachusetts both as governor and as a diplomat, bringing calm intelligence and fairness to every office he filled and representing the Commonwealth abroad with respectful attention to other peoples.

When not in public service he cherished the company of family and friends, valuing quiet reflection as he guided the state through national debates, and Forest Hills Cemetery now holds his resting place in honor of the statesman who sought fairness and progress in equal measure.
