Biography

Curtis H. Castle moved to California after studying medicine and soon added public service to his professional life, earning election to the United States House of Representatives where he represented rural concerns in the late 1890s.

He worked to promote irrigation and public health, and in his later years he continued to serve his community with the same compassion he had shown in the hospital wards and the halls of Congress, resting now at Santa Barbara Cemetery.
