Curtis N. Douglas

Biography

Curtis N. Douglas (1856-1919) practiced law and represented his fellow citizens in both the New York legislature and the United States Congress, working to improve rural infrastructure and give voice to communities outside the great cities. He approached each challenge with thoughtful deliberation and a resolve to balance progress with prudence.

Laid to rest in Albany Rural Cemetery, he is remembered by colleagues for his unwavering sense of fairness and by constituents for the way he listened before he led.
