Biography
Cus D'Amato (1908-1985) transformed the sport of boxing through his ability to recognize raw talent and teach champions such as Floyd Patterson, José Torres, and a young Mike Tyson.
His insistence on psychological discipline, defensive skill, and caring for young fighters once they left the ring left an enduring imprint on the sport, and he lies at rest in Saint Patrick Cemetery.
