Biography

Czesław Świerczewski (1866–1950) was a Polish citizen whose long life spanned from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century. He witnessed Poland's transformation from partition under foreign powers through independence and into the post-war period.

Świerczewski is remembered at Cmentarz Oliwski in Gdańsk, a historic cemetery in the Pomeranian region. His life represents the experiences of those who lived through Poland's most dramatic historical transitions and changes.
