Biography

Daisetsu Teitaro Suzuki (1870–1966) was a renowned Japanese Buddhist scholar and philosopher who became one of the most influential interpreters of Zen Buddhism to the Western world. Through his prolific writings, lectures, and translations, Suzuki dedicated his life to bridging Eastern and Western philosophical traditions, earning international recognition as a leading authority on Mahayana Buddhism and Zen practice.

Suzuki's scholarly contributions extended across multiple disciplines, including comparative religion, philosophy, and cultural studies.
