Daniel Eliott

Biography

Daniel Eliott (1798–1872) was a translator whose linguistic skills and scholarly dedication contributed to the dissemination of knowledge across linguistic boundaries. His work in translation facilitated cultural and intellectual exchange during the nineteenth century.

Eliott's contributions to translation work represented an important though often unrecognized aspect of Victorian intellectual life. He was interred at Brompton Cemetery, a resting place reflecting his status as a man of letters and learning.
