Daniel Marcy

Biography

Daniel Marcy studied law and served Portsmouth and the surrounding seacoast as a trusted counselor whose steady judgment earned him election to the New Hampshire legislature and, later, to the U.S. House of Representatives for the 43rd Congress.

He championed the maritime commerce and manufacturing that sustained his region, and after leaving national office he continued to support civic institutions and mentor younger public servants, remaining engaged with his community until his passing.
