David Bachrach, born in 1845, was a pioneering Baltimore photographer whose studio became a trusted place for families, civic leaders, and visiting dignitaries to be rendered with warmth and dignity.

His glass-plate artistry and devotion to the Jewish community left a visual legacy that continues to guide historians, and he is remembered at Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery.
